Migraine Headaches

There are several kinds of headaches that people suffer with. Sinus headaches and tension headaches tend to respond well to traditional chiropractic treatment. Often headaches begin after an accident such as a motor vehicle accident or other head or neck injury.

Migraine headaches, though, are different. Migraines are severely painful and are accompanied by other symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, and sensitivity to light, sound, or smell. Some people see an “aura” or “spectra” often just before the headache begins. The headache pain is very intense and makes thinking very difficult if not impossible. People often miss work because of migraines. Migraine headaches may run in families.

Migraines can take over your life. Some migraine sufferers live in a dark room and cannot tolerate even low amounts of noise or light. Some people with migraines even have stroke-like symptoms at times--such as being unable to speak normally.

The Merck Manual identifies inflammation in cranial blood vessels and the dura mater as a possible cause of migraine headache. Therefore, it only makes sense to find the cause of the inflammation and eliminate it. It has been my experience over the years that migraine sufferers often have a severe allergy to a certain food or foods or an environmental substance. When the offending substance is identified, it can be eliminated. Sometimes the inflammation caused by the allergy has damaged the digestive system or the nervous system. When this has occurred, we must heal those areas before the migraine headaches will stop permanently. This can be done without the use of prescription drugs. In fact, natural medicines are the only thing that heals this kind of damage.

Please see the testimonial section of this website for the letter written by former migraine sufferer, Jesse Vasquez. The wonderful result obtained by Jesse is not unusual at all but is typical of what can be achieved with the right kind of testing and treatment.
